"Sometimes I get there just when God's ready to have me click the shutter." ~ Ansel Adams

I do a lot of photography, though it's probably the thing in which I'm least skilled or trained. Nevertheless, as I quoted Ansel Adams above, sometimes I just arrive at the right time. I like to have my camera around, and if I spot a good shot, I take it without hesitation. The banners on these pages, for example, were spontaneous catches.

Most of my pictures are of nature, and fewer of people. Forests, water, and sunsets fascinate me most, but also extremes (such as very tiny things up close, or very large things from afar).

Whenever I can, however, I hunt for the symbolic or abstract: a gnome with an aghast expression buried up to its neck in snow, a bike somehow five metres up in a tree, rosepetals the wind has scattered by a sewage pipe. The unexpected and unpredictable thrills me.

I use a Canon Powershot A570 IS camera, whatever that is.

For my favourite photos ~ from 4000/12gb, I selected 75/8mb.
